How do I save my voicemail messages?

Saving voicemails on an iPhone

  1. Tap on the "Phone" icon and then tap “Voicemail” on the bottom right of your screen.
  2. Select the voicemail message you wish to save and tap the "Share" icon located at the top right.
  3. Choose from the following options to save your voicemail (you may need to swipe right to see all the options):
    • Mail: Send the audio file to yourself in an email. This method is quick, easy, and ensures you have a copy in your inbox.
    • Messages: Send the voicemail as a text message to a friend or family member, who can then save and send it back to you if needed.
    • Notes: Save the file to the Notes app. Remember to perform an iCloud backup afterward, ensuring your Notes app data is included.
    • Voice Memos: Save the voicemail to the Voice Memos app for easy retrieval later. Again, ensure you backup your Voice Memos data with iCloud.
    • Save to Files: Directly save the voicemail to your iCloud Drive. Create an iCloud backup to ensure all your iCloud Drive files are preserved.

Saving voicemails on an Android

  1. Open the “Voicemail” or “Visual Voicemail” app on your device.
  2. Tap on the voicemail message you'd like to save.
  3. For some Samsung devices, tap the message, then tap “Menu.”
  4. Tap the “Forward” button. If there isn't a Forward option, tap “Share” and select the method of sending.
  5. When prompted to “Forward,” choose “Email.”
  6. Enter your own email address in the "To" field and press “Send” to email the voicemail to yourself.

For Smartphones and Feature Phones Other Than Android and iPhone

If you have a device that doesn't fall into the categories above, don't worry! You can still save your voicemail messages using a bit of creativity. Here’s how:

  1. Position two devices close to each other, one being your phone with the voicemail and the other capable of recording audio.
  2. Play the voicemail on speakerphone mode while the second device records the message.
  3. Transfer this recording back to your intended device after the recording is complete.

If using an iPhone, consider the “Voice Memos” app for audio recording, while Android users can utilize the “Recorder” app. Alternatively, the “Camera” app can record a video of the voicemail being played if audio recording isn't an option.
