Do I need to sign up to receive Usage Alerts?
When you become a Consumer Cellular customer an initial set of Usage Alerts are defined for you by default. You can change these settings at any time:
- Log in to My Account
- Go to the Alerts menu, and then select Manage Alerts
- Choose your alert type(s):
- Text message
- Choose when you want to be alerted:
- 50% of your included minutes or wireless web usage.
- 75% of your included minutes or wireless web usage.
- Click Update Now
That’s all there is to it. The alerts are free—we won’t even charge you for the text messages. Not only that, unlike other cellphone companies, we let you change your plan retroactively to the start of your current billing period so you can get the best possible pricing.
Also, with Consumer Cellular, if you reach 100% usage on your current plan, we automatically upgrade you to the next plan that covers your usage to give you the best rate, with no overage fees. You will receive an additional alert if this occurs.
